Events in August

Events tend to die down a little during holiday season, but that doesn’t hold back some of the design and digital folk of Yorkshire!

Book Making Workshop at Chirpy

Sunday 7th August
One of our favourite design shops is hosting another exciting workshop; this time around making different styles of stitched notebooks. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, and make sure you follow up with a peruse around the shop, full of work from local artists and printmakers.

Drink & Draw Workshop at The Bowery

Friday 12th August
If you’ve ever wanted to attend a tutored drawing lesson but felt a little intimidated, this is the perfect opportunity to get involved. Quite simply, bring your own booze, enjoy some music, and draw away while a tutor gives you guidance.

Leeds Digital Ale Trail in town

Friday 12th August
Using the app, you explore Leeds with friends, beer by beer.
“The Leeds Digital Ale Trail Challenge will take you on a journey through the finest pubs in Leeds. It also gives you a chance to compete with your friends over who knows the most about beer, history, and general Leeds trivia.”

Exhibition Tours at The Tetley

Saturday 20th August
Take a guided tour around the current exhibitions at The Tetley, Jonathan Trayte’s Polyculture and Stass Paraskos: Lovers & Romances.

Leeds JS at Future Labs

Wednesday 31st August
This installment of the Leeds Javascript event includes two speakers; Katie Fenn talking about functional JS, and Glynn Bird discussing Node.js Microservices. It’s an informal chance to learn and network, followed by drinks at Headrow House.

As well as the above, there are some great exhibitions in town this month. Check out Essence of Gender at The Gallery at Munro House, and Polyculture at The Tetley.

It's a particluarly busy time for Craft at the moment as we continue to work with fantastic design and digital agencies around Leeds and Yorkshire; in fact, we're looking to grow the team!
