Events in February

We know, it’s cold and dark and hard to go outside at the moment. But fear not – there are plenty of reasons to stay out past 5pm, in the form of fantastic creative and digital events around Leeds! As usual, here’s our round up of the top events for February…

Digital Leeds: Data Visualisation at FutureLabs

Wednesday 8th February
Another great event lined up from Digital Leeds, this time including speakers who work in Data Visualisation in Yorkshire – including designers and a university lecturer. Following the talks, there’ll be an opportunity to meet others interested in data around Leeds.

The Plant Room: Garden Sessions 5 at Tall Boys Beer Market

Wednesday 15th February
The Garden Sessions are creative workshops that celebrate plants, creativity and urban-growing in a collaboration with Tall Boys. You can read a bit more about The Plant Room in our latest Craft blog. http://craftagency.co.uk/blog/feature-plant-room This workshop will focus on print and mark making using wet materials, lead by Laura Slater, a textile artist and print designer. These events always sell out quickly!

Harrogate Digital Drinks at North Bar

Thursday 16th February
An informal meet up for anybody and everybody interested in tech and the digital community of Harrogate. Pop along to see some friendly faces and have a drink or two!

Wednesday 22nd February
This month, @mattcollins84 is joining to talk about using RethinkDB and Node to build realtime applications – a great learning opportunity.

Screen Printing Workshop at the Leeds Print Workshop

Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th February
What better way to cure your wintery blues than an inspiring printmaking workshop!? Even better, this one is for two days so you really sink your teeth into the process and get the most out of it. It’s £95 for two days which is more reasonable than most, and you’ll have a great tutor to teach you the ropes.
