Events in March

It’s been a busy start to the year here at Craft, but we often have an excuse to stay in town after work as the great design and digital events in Leeds just keep coming! Below is our list of the best in March, but please let us know if you have any more to add, or if we will see you at any of them soon!

Hepworth Print Fair at The Hepworth, Wakefield

Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th March
A wonderful collection of local and independent printmakers gather their wares in one of Yorkshire’s most inspirational art venues – what’s not to love!? There’s talks, workshops, and food to enjoy – so it’s definitely worth the 20 minute train journey out of town.

International Contemporary Artists’ Book Fair at The Tetley

Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th March
The longest running artists’ book fair outside of London is right on our doorstep, and it’s celebrating it’s 20th birthday! Attend a talk, peruse the beautiful original artwork on display, and bag yourself a one-off piece from one of the 50 stalls run by independent artists.

Arts Network: Sheffield Creative Guild at Sheffield Institute of Arts

Thursday 9th March
A chance to meet professionals, students and graduates in an informal setting – whether you’re looking for advice, support, or just to meet people in the industry, this is a good opportunity to do so, with the added bonus of interesting talks.

Play It Loud! Exhibition at Leeds Gallery, Munro House

From Monday 13th March
Leeds Gallery is hosting a collection of work from New Analogue, who is an Illustrator and Printer from Manchester. This exhibition celebrates the union of music and art, a story told by beautiful hand screen printed posters.

Bookbinding Taster Session at The Tetley

Wednesday 15th March
One of The Tetley’s ‘Wednesday Lates’ series, this taster session gives you the opportunity to try something new – this time, bookbinding! A completely free workshop to introduce you to the beauty of handmade books, it’s a fantastic activity to learn something new after work!

DBA Member Networks: Succession Planning at WPA Pinfold

Thursday 16th March
An event for DBA members only, this is a session to plan for the future success of your agency – with speaker Jack O’Hern.

There are also some great workshops, as usual, at come of our favourite creative spaces, like Chirpy in Chapel Allerton, and The Bowery in Headingley!
