Portfolio Lab #2: LWD x Craft -- June 14th

It’s time for our second Portfolio Lab of 2018. And we're super excited to announce that this time, we're running it in association with Ladies, Wine & Design Leeds!

Thursday 14th June

Sheaf St Cafeteria, Dukes Studios

Our Portfolio Labs are a discreet but engaging meeting format for those progressing their design career, where you can ask specific questions or practice presenting aspects of your portfolio. It’s a no-pressure, friendly atmosphere.

We're going to run it with a bit of a speed dating format this time around - with people moving around the room, speaking to two or three people on the day.

It’s completely free and all you need is you and your work!

We have an incredible team of ladies in the room this month, with broad knowledge and extensive experience in a variety of design-based roles;

Claire Bradley - Design Director at Intermarketing
Sophie Honeggar - Art Director at Propaganda
Steph Oglesby - Senior Designer at Robot Food
Mandy Barker - Founder at Sail Creative
Lisa Maltby - Art Director and Illustrator at Lisa Maltby Creative
Abi Langridge - Freelance Senior Designer
Hanneka Kilburn - Head of Design at Bolser Digital Agency
Rosie Manning - Brand and Web Designer at Rolo Studio

We’ll try to match you up with the expert who would best suit your portfolio, depending on background and specialism, across brand, packaging, digital and illustration.

Craft Portfolio Labs are an opportunity to have your portfolio reviewed and discussed in detail, to make sure it’s working as hard as it needs to and does justice to your great work. We feel it’s an essential step in the job-hunting process – perfecting your portfolio and your presentation skills can be hard to do alone.

We wanted to partner with Ladies, Wine & Design Leeds as they represent and support the incredible female talent within our design industry. Together, we’ve arranged a team of leading female designers, business owners and influencers in the Leeds design scene to look through your book with you and make sure it’s up to scratch!

While the design industry of Leeds fortunately has a strong female presence, we know that the UK is still balancing a gender pay gap and the continued growth of females in leadership roles should be supported across every industry. Ladies, Wine & Design is an awesome, genuine and friendly network who we are really proud to partner with!

A big thanks to those getting involved, and to Eve for partnering the Craft Portfolio Lab with Ladies, Wine & Design Leeds this month!

We’re looking forward to seeing some new faces and fantastic portfolios! Take a look at our Portfolio Labs page for even more helpful tips from industry experts, advice, direction, and upcoming event details.
