Creative Sparks: Josh Parsons

Josh takes us through the projects that spark thoughts, feelings, and inspiration for him right now.

It made me… Think

🎥 A$AP Rocky – Tailor Swif

This video flipped my expectations of what a music video can be. It pushed the boundaries of storytelling, blending surrealism, humour, and art in a way that felt completely new. It’s not just a visual accompaniment to a song: it’s an experience. Watching it made me rethink how music videos are evolving, beyond predictable formulas into immersive, artistic expressions.

It made me… Happy

⚽ Common Goal Rebrand | See it here

Football has always been a source of joy for me. The new Common Goal branding captures all of that beautifully. The logo, designed to show two players battling for the ball, also forms a heart; turning a simple mark into a symbol of inclusivity. The raw, energetic typography from Barkas complements it perfectly.

The first thing I thought when I saw the rebrand? That would look great on a T-shirt. Turns out, that was the exact intention of Common Goal’s founder, Jurgen Griesbeck – to create a logo people would proudly wear. Mission accomplished.

It made me… Nostalgic

📼 Cliik Campaign by Little Troop | See it here

Little Troop’s art direction for Cliik stopped me in my tracks. The retro-futuristic aesthetic somehow made storage look cool. The campaign’s 70s/80s-inspired posters feel like they were pulled straight from a vintage magazine – so much so that they transported me back to my childhood, skimming through old issues my grandparents gave me to cut up for collages.

This was also the first project that put Little Troop on my radar, and now I watch every move they make. (Side note: their recent Brain magazine cover? Incredible.)

It made me… Hungry for More!

👀 Bianco Bianco Tokyo | Explore their work

I’ve been following Bianco Bianco for three years now, and they never miss. Their art direction is consistently on point – whether it’s for Adidas, Nike, or Puma. But the project that really hooked me? Their Baracuta x Junya Watanabe ‘Neo-Punk’ video. Since then, I’ve been paying close attention to everything they put out.

Their work is proof that the best design doesn’t just look good – it makes you feel something. And that’s exactly why I keep coming back for more.
